Aliyah Ahmad plans to spend her senior year as an Accolade photographer in the 2020-2021 school year. She wants to contribute to the newspaper with her great photography skills and has an active role in the school with various activities like clubs and AP classes. When Ahmad isn't taking Accolade photos, you can find her running on the track, pursuing her passion for painting or making her friends laugh.

When hybrid learning resumes for the first time this year on Feb. 16, students will once again be required to enter the Sunny Hills campus through the area between the 20s wing and the administration building so they can have their temperatures scanned. This is what happened when hybrid learning started Nov. 2 as assistant principal John Oldenburg (right) directed one of the students to the next station to get her wristband for the day.

Before Fullerton Joint Union High School District campuses reopen for the hybrid leaning model Feb. 16, administrators and staff will revisit the health and safety protocols to ensure that all who arrive for instruction will abide by them. During past board meetings, some have expressed concerns over whether students were being reminded to remain six feet apart at all times like these Sunny Hills students were trying to do Nov. 5, three days after hybrid learning first started.

Currently being housed in Room 20, the two thermal cameras will be moved under the overhang at the entrance to the main hallway to Sunny Hills Nov. 2, when students and staff will be allowed to return to campus for live classroom instruction as part of the hybrid learning model. The Fullerton Joint Union High School District paid $15,000 for each camera, which will be used to help school officials to easily check the temperatures of students as they arrive on campus.
