Through her interest in photography and writing news stories, junior Rebekah Kim takes on the position of a photographer in The Accolade for the 2021-2022 school year. Kim plans to broaden her photography skills and enhance her craft of journalistic writing.

Apart from being on staff, Kim participates in various clubs and extracurriculars including National Honors Society and dance. She has also received the Rotary Top 100 Award and Lancer Award for chemistry. Kim enjoys playing the guitar and piano as well as spending time with her friends

Like many other students, juniors Taylor Kim (left), Jonathan Alexander and Myles Luhm return to school with masks on. Alongside wearing masks, Sunny Hills and the FJUHSD took further regulations to prevent the further spread of the Omicron variant by postponing or canceling non-essential activities on and off-campus activities.

Construction for the new golf training facility, located in between the tennis courts and the junior varsity baseball field, began on Nov. 29. The site, which costs roughly $50,000, will feature 11 hitting bays. Though school officials could not provide a completion date, golf head coach Scott Enrico said he hopes it’ll be ready to use in the 2022-2023 school year.

Associated Student Body [ASB] community affairs commissioner senior Madeline Liu greets the less than 1,000 crowd in the gym during the Friday, Oct. 15, homecoming assembly. A worker in the Sunny Hills cafeteria kitchen puts one of the food items for students into a grab-and-go bag Friday, Aug. 13, in preparation for the first day of school Monday, Aug. 16. The bag is among thousands that workers loaded with food for any student to pick up for free for breakfast, lunch and dinner -- the first year of universal meals that California has offered for all public school students.
