Aliyah Ahmad plans to spend her senior year as an Accolade photographer in the 2020-2021 school year. She wants to contribute to the newspaper with her great photography skills and has an active role in the school with various activities like clubs and AP classes. When Ahmad isn’t taking Accolade photos, you can find her running on the track, pursuing her passion for painting or making her friends laugh.

When hybrid learning resumes for the first time this year on Feb. 16, students will once again be required to enter the Sunny Hills campus through the area between the 20s wing and the administration building so they can have their temperatures scanned. The Winston the Lancer statue sits above the touch-free sanitizing unit placed in the main office in Room 3. Custodians have placed one touch-free sanitizing unit identical to this one in every single classroom for students to utilize as they enter or leave.

Currently being housed in Room 20, the two thermal cameras will be moved under the overhang at the entrance to the main hallway to Sunny Hills Nov. 2, when students and staff will be allowed to return to campus for live classroom instruction as part of the hybrid learning model. The Fullerton Joint Union High School District paid $15,000 for each camera, which will be used to help school officials to easily check the temperatures of students as they arrive on campus.

Senior Meagan Kimbrell takes out her collection of 30 masks that she has bought either from Amazon or Target since the COVID-19 pandemic in mid-March. Though Kimbrell does not plan to return to campus Nov. 2 for hybrid learning, she still values mask fashion and will continue to promote her new finds on social media.
