After working as an illustrator in her sophomore year, junior Lindsey Um returns as a co-graphics editor. Um looks forward to contributing more to The Accolade's online and print products. Through captivating artwork and graphics, Um hopes to entice students to read The Accolade's stories.

Outside of The Accolade, Um enjoys studying chemistry, playing games with her friends and listening to music.

An artist’s rendering of Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous painting depicts a scene described in the New Testament of the Bible in which Jesus has his last supper with his 12 disciples before he is crucified on the cross. Some conservative politicians and religious leaders reacted critically to what they thought was a poor re-enactment of that scene during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, July 26; however, Olympics planning committee officials claim the presentation related instead to an appreciation of Greek mythology.

The founder of the DreamCatchers organization was inspired by her Native American heritage of honoring “Spider Woman” through weaving dreamcatchers and ultimately came up with the name, as she mirrors her roots by honoring the dreams of elders. The club offers the opportunity for students to form and strengthen connections with the elderly through partnerships with senior living agencies.
