        Samantha Galang, Illustrator
After centering her attention on academics for most of high school, senior Samantha Galang wanted to explore and find a new creative outlet in art. She usually made drawings for herself and decided to share her work to a broader audience, which made the choice to join The Accolade as an illustrator all the more promising. When Galang has free time, she reads books, plays video games and tries out new recipes

After a year of gaining knowledge and journalism experience from the 2021-2022 Journalism 1 class, sophomore Elisa Arias looks forward to contributing her illustrious artistic skills to The Accolade as one of the illustrators. She hopes her work inspires students and wants to take her creative mindset to the next level and help her grow her artistic thinking. Arias enjoys sketching, drawing, listening to music on her phone and vinyl record player, gaming and watching horror and Marvel movies. Arias is also a part of the Sunny Hills girls soccer program, leading and helping her team place second in the league.

Engineering teacher Patrick Salem nominated Huang for the recognition sponsored by the Parent Teacher Student Association [PTSA], which for the first time held a meeting on campus in the evening to honor the second group of E cubed recipients this school year.

Standing next to Ronald the cow, English and journalism teacher Tommy Li (left) waves to the audience in the quad during lunch Friday, March 3, as Future Farmers of America vice president junior Paloma Wizikowski applauds. Wizikowski started the countdown for Li to perform his duties of kissing the bovine as a culminating event to national Future Farmers of America [FFA] week. The less than five-minute show in which Li was chosen among a list of other teachers and staff –including principal Craig Weinreich – after earning the most votes from digital voting was originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 24, the last day of FFA Week, but was postponed because of rain.
