As the smell of freshly baked bread fills the store, the classical music and sound of laughter create a sense of delight and serenity. However, only a few have the opportunity to enjoy this feeling in this French-Asian bakery since the franchise comprises 50 locations in the United States.

Recently, Tous Les Jours landed in the Amerige Town Center nearby Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, offering more than 300 different kinds of bakery goods.

Serving a variety of treats ranging from $2.50 chocolate croissant to $3.75 lavender latte, Tous Les Jours, which means “every day” in French, appeals to customers who want to relax by combining the concepts of a bakery and a cafe.

A popular item on the menu is the $3 sweet rice donut made of glutinous rice flour and filled with red bean paste. Unlike the usual doughnuts, the pastry bread maintains a crunchy outer texture and a chewy inner texture, satisfying customers with the sweet paste waiting in the center.

Another best-seller, priced at $2.25, is the croquette — fried bread with breadcrumb coating and mixed veggie fillings. As its French name croquer, “to crunch,” suggests, the fried bread has a crispy texture, but the inner fillings may have differentiating opinions based on one’s taste.

The bakery also offers unique cakes, macarons and madeleines as desserts. A recommended treat is the $2.25 cookies and cream macaron, which incorporates its featured flavor with a chewy texture.

Not only does Tous Les Jours satisfy its customers’ palate for sweets, but its interior appeals to the eyes as well. The store restores the traditional bakery interior while mixing it with a modern feel such as dim lights hanging from the ceiling. Moreover, the shining red lights on the wall give a sense of tranquility and comfort; the sign reads: La vie est belle, which means “Life is beautiful.” The outside lounge of the bakery shows how this is a place where people can enjoy a cool breeze and relax.

For a light meal or snack, students should check out Tous Les Jours; after all, its treats are freshly baked — every day.
